Overview

The ride begins at the Crabbes Creek end of the trail near Wooyung Road where we will custom fit you to the bike you will ride. Following a safety briefing you will embark on the first stretch of the ride. The trail sets off through native forest much like a tree tunnel and comes to a side path to Crabbes Creek Village. Take a detour to look around Crabbes Creek before re-joining the trail and heading towards Mooball. You will pass under the Hulls Road Tunnel and go around the bend into the straight section of track that takes you to Mooball. Mooball is frequented by motorcycle enthusiasts, and this is a good place to get refreshments and/or a meal. The pub here in Mooball, the Victory Hotel, is where we meet if you are riding in both directions. This is a scenic section of the ride takes in stands of native bush and rolling fields.

Once through Mooball you will cross some spectacular section of the trail crossing a long rail bridge and several smaller ones across the Burringbar Creek. You pass under the Tweed Valley way hugging the Burringbar creek into Burringbar which again has some food and drink options. From here you head to the upper reaches of the picturesque Burringbar Valley crossing many rail bridges before heading to the slight hill section of the trail towards the 500-metre-long Burringbar Tunnel. This section of the ride contains old native rain forest and is part of the Scenic Rim, the side wall of the old volcano. Turn on your light on your bike as the centre of the tunnel is particularly dark. The tunnel contains glow worms and small bats if undisturbed you might catch a glimpse of their impressive glow.

STOKERS SIDING & DUNBIBLE VILLAGE

The next section of the ride passes through stands of native bush, rolling pastures and passes through the Stokers Siding and Dunbible village train stations. Both these places have a refreshment option.

DUNBIBLE TO MURWILLUMBAH

The last section from Dunbible to Murwillumbah is an easy ride and includes a tar sealed section overlooking the sugar cane fields. Stop in at the Tweed River Art Gallery and the new Olley Art Centre is also an option at this point just keep a look out for the sign and the steps to the Arts Centre. At the Arts centre café you can take a refreshment here if you choose overlooking the Tweed River and Mt Wollumbin (fighting chief) the impressive central core of the old volcano.

MURWILLUMBAH TRAIN STATION

The last section of the trail is tar seal into Murwillumbah Train Station. For those of you not returning to Mooball we will meet you here before we then take you back to your accommodation.

VICTORY PUB

For those of you that continue back to Mooball you do all this in return and we meet you at the Victory Pub to pick you up there after your ride and help you celebrate the best day ever.
